GM/EMO

Dear Mr. Polanyi,

On my return fro leave yesterday I had your telephone message by which I understand that you do not wish us to make an arrangement for you to visit the Cambridge region. I am not, however, clear whether you are now so placed that you will find it impossible to do any meetings in or near London. I am sorry to worry you, but I should be grateful if you would let me know whether you wish me to take further action or not. We should be sorry not to be able to call upon you, but I shall, of course, quite understand how you are placed. Would you be enough to drop me a line in a day or so.

Yours sincerely,
{8meana}

Dr. Karl Polanyi,
