Dear Karl,
Many different elements surround the work we have done on Freedom and Technology. I am concerned with two to which you have recently pointed: that such a work was inhibited by inadequate grasp of your position on the reality of society as well as by reservations I have had on Christian freedom.
In think that on these two points you are mistaken. I have written the enclosed piece on the reality of society as some indication of the level of my understanding of the essentials. I dashed it off this morning at one sitting, and so it should not be judged as a finished piece. I'm sure there are flaws. It is however, more substantial evidence than the occasional conversational lapse, to which I freely admit.
